Svijany Chateau
The 16th-century castle was in a state of disrepair in 2013, partly used for rental housing. The aim of the project was to bring a new use to the site, which in addition to the castle also includes a garden and an old school, to clean the buildings of inappropriate additions and restore its former appearance. The castle now offers a hotel and restaurant, and an exhibition of Bronze Age archaeological findings has been installed. The author of the exposition and objects in the garden is Akad. arch. David Vávra. Our project also includes an extension of the mini-brewery to the old school, which was not realized. In the old school a beer bath was created according to our design. Our studio provided complex design and project planning in all phases of the reconstruction and supervision during the construction. The chateau was awarded the Building of the Year 2016.
